Samsung may shift handset production capacity to India, Indonesia: Report

South Korean handset maker Samsung is planning to rejig its smartphone production strategy and may shift some production capacity to India and Indonesia by investing a cumulative $140 million, said a media report.

from Gadgets Now It said Samsung will expand its manufacturing capacity at its India factory to 93 million units per year by 2022, from 60 million units per year at present, at a cost of $90 million. Its factory in Indonesia will upscale capacity to 18 million units per year during the same time frame, with an investment of $50 million, said the report.
